Dr. Irving Kirsch is the is the Associate Director of the Placebo Studies Program at Harvard Medical School. He claims that if one patient takes antidepressants and the other takes a sugar pill, they’d have the same effect.
Dr. Kirsch says that it’s not the chemical ingredients of the drugs that are making people feel better. He says it’s simply the placebo effect.
