Last time on Pretend, I spoke with a group of women who drink MMS, a bleach-type chemical, to cure everything from cancer to depression.
The Food and Drug Administration issued this warning:
Miracle Mineral Supplement, often referred to as Miracle Mineral Solution, Master Mineral Solution, MMS or the CD protocol, is a toxic solution of 28% sodium chlorite in distilled water. The product contains essentially the same ingredient as industrial-strength bleach before “activation” with a food-grade acid.
In this episode, I interview Kerri Rivera, the woman leading the MMS movement, and find out why she claims chlorine dioxide is the cure for everything.
However, getting ahold of Kerri Rivera wasn’t going to be easy. So, I started searching for her in Chicago, where she lived for many years. But, unfortunately, I hit a dead end. You see, back in 2015, Kerri Rivera was served with a subpoena by the Illinois Attorney General demanding her to show proof that her treatment cures autism. But, of course, she couldn’t prove that her treatment worked. So, Kerri Rivera voluntarily signed an agreement stating that she will no longer sell or promote any MMS products in the US. Soon after, she skipped town and fled to Mexico.
I kept searching for her but couldn’t find any leads. So, I spent nights chatting on several message boards, hoping to inch my way closer to Kerri Rivera. Finally, one night, while talking with a group of MMS supporters online, a woman offered to put me in touch with the infamous chlorine dioxide queen. And a few days later, my phone rang. It was Kerri Rivera.
