Does the right to know outweigh the risk of copycats, notoriety, and exposure to the suspect’s family?

The mass murder in an Atlanta massage parlor happened while I was recording my new YouTube video discussing the ethics of naming criminal suspects. Three paragraphs in and the @nytimes revealed the name of the suspect. Is that even necessary? Would the story be as informative without revealing the suspect’s name?
